I need to build a pedestal table. The top will be 34 inches in diameter.
The base of the pedestal will have four legs forming an X. How far should
those legs protrude from the pedestal to support the table? Is there some
formula for calculating that?

Thx

For a stable table, I would make the legs 30 inches across where they
touched the floor.
